Introduction to Gnosis - Glenorchy
"Knowledge of the inner Being through direct mystical experience"

A free eight week presentation exploring the history of the Gnostics, the philosophy of the initiates and the practical work on oneself to awaken the consciousness. Each week consists of a talk and brief introduction to meditation. Please phone or email to register a place. Advanced courses are available after introduction.

Introduction to Gnosis - Huonville and Sorell

This free course will include an introduction to the history of the Gnostics, a description of their myths and philosophies, and a study of contemporary Gnosis, including a study of the mind, meditation, awakening consciousness and other topics. No bookings required, no obligation. Advanced courses are available after the introduction.

Huonville: Commencing Sunday, 25th of July and running every 2 weeks until the 5th of September Sorell: Commencing Saturday, 24th of July and running every 2 weeks until the 4th of September

In order to develop gnosis as a living study, it is necessary to find a serious, working group. The Australian Gnostic Association has centres based in Hobart, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth, with various classes, workshops and information lectures run periodically throughout the year. Course topics include:

  • The 2 Lines of Life: material and spiritual life, balance, the internal worlds.
  • The Human Machine: the 5 centres of the human machine, their functions. Reducing stress and problems.
  • Essence, Personality and Ego: the qualities of the essence, development and functions of the personality, the nature of the ego.
  • The 3 Minds: sensorial mind, mind of beliefs and interior mind. Freeing ourself from the mind.
  • Imagination and Fantasy: Use and development of imagination. Fantasy, dreams and the sleeping consciousness.
  • Awakening Consciousness: the 4 states of consciousness. Understanding ourselves psychologically. Methods and processes of awakening.
